Computed Tomography
Abstract
The ability to look inside an object is both fascinating and insightful, and has many applications both in medicine and in metrology. Often, one of the challenges here is that the object must not be destroyed and information about its insides can only be acquired in form of radiographic scans, such as x-ray images. These scans inherently represent integrals rather than absolute values. The objective of methods in the project is to reconstruct information from integrated projections efficiently and accurately. The difficulties vary from time-variance and scarcity of data for medical applications to computational cost and memory footprint for metrology. We cooperate with industry to find new methods for solving these problems.
